THE NEW WAY TO SET YOUR MAKEUP: MIXING SETTING SPRAY WITH FOUNDATION

THE NEW WAY TO SET YOUR MAKEUP: MIXING SETTING SPRAY WITH FOUNDATION

We all know the key to lasting makeup is setting it, whether it be with powder or setting spray. But when we heard about this new technique, it almost seemed like an obvious solution – why didn’t we think of this? It is so simple, yet so effective. Give it a try and decide for yourself if this method of setting your makeup is superior!

To execute this, you’ll need a liquid setting spray and a liquid foundation, BB cream, CC cream, or tinted moisturizer. Make sure your skin is nice and prepped (cleansed and moisturized) before spraying a generous amount of setting spray all over your face. Really douse your skin with it, and ensure it’s fully coated. Pro tip: while you’re actively spraying, hold your breath so you’re not breathing in the spray. Then, apply your foundation (or whatever base you’re using) while the setting spray is still damp, so it dries down together. That’s it! By mixing your base directly with the setting spray, you’re locking in the coverage right from the beginning. Trust us when we say it will not budge throughout the day, and this way you can keep your skin looking dewy and fresh rather than mattified with setting powder.

Our product picks for this technique:

Once you’ve applied your base, you’ll want to warm up the complexion with a bronzer and blush. For this look, skip the cool-toned contour and go for a Sunkissed bronze instead which will bring warmth and youthfulness rather than sculpting and defining the features. Apply your bronzer to the edges of the forehead and temples, and along the jawline and cheekbones. For blush, go for a shade that looks natural and apply sparingly to the cheeks; we want the bronze to stand out more than the blush.

Next is the main feature of latte makeup – the eyes! The great part about this step is you can use the same bronzer you used for complexion and apply it all over the lids, making sure to blend the edges. You can really stretch the edges outward as you blend since it will meld seamlessly with your bronzer on the temples. To add more definition to this monochromatic look, take an eyeshadow or eyeliner that is a slightly darker shade of brown and make a diffused wing along the outer lash line. Then, go ahead and mimic that wing by lightly lining your lower lash line with the same brown shade and blending it out. You can also add an optional brown eyeliner to your lower waterline. Finish with a few coats of black mascara only to the top lashes.

For lips, go for a caramel nude lipstick with a slightly darker matching lip liner. We want most of the emphasis to be on the bronzed skin and sultry eyes, so the lips should be understated but still defined and contribute to the overall monochromatic look.

That’s all there is to it! Now you have a general idea of how to achieve the viral latte makeup look. We’ll list our product picks for this look below, and if you decide to try it please tag us on Instagram @bellapierreofficial!
